Energy, Environment, and Clean-Tech Leaders Come Together to Hold the 2013 Green Inaugural Ball

Event celebrates successes over Obama’s first term, looks toward more progress over the next 4 years

Washington, DC – Top environment and green technology leaders from across the country have come together to hold the 2013 Green Inaugural Ball to honor President Barack Obama. The ball brings a diverse set of groups from among the energy, environment, conservation, and clean-tech community to celebrate the past four years of accomplishment in these areas and a look forward to the next four years.

This year’s event builds from the success of the star-studded 2009 ball which featured former Vice President Al Gore, then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, will.i.am, Maroon 5, John Legend, John Cusack, and top environmental, conservation, and business leaders.

“Just as in 2009, we expect this year’s ball to feature marquis talent from among those who are leaders and innovators in this space,” said Shelley Cohen, chairwoman of the 2013 Green Inaugural Ball Greening Committee and greening expert at Ameresco. “We anticipate hosting a sold-out crowd at this important juncture for the environmental, clean tech, and conservation community to come together in celebration and begin to move forward on our initiatives over the next four years.”

The event will be held at the Newseum in Washington, DC on Sunday, January 20, 2013; Doors open at 7:00pm.
