Chill Out and Campus Conservation Nationals Competitions
From 2006 to 2011, National Wildlife Federation's Campus Ecology Program hosted an annual Chill Out: Climate Action on Campus compeition. The competition encouraged students, faculty and staff from colleges and high schools nationwide to take action on their campus and step up as a leader on campus sustainability. The work that all of the entrants were doing was inspiring, which led us to create the Chill Out webcasts.
This year we are partnering again with Lucid Design Group, U.S. Green Building Counil and the Alliance to Save Energy to bring you Campus Conservation Nationals! CCN is a nationwide resource use reduction competition that challenges college and university campuses to achieve the greatest electricity and water use reductions during a three week period.
How it works:
Between February and April participating colleges and universities will compete to achieve the greatest possible energy and water reductions in residence halls. Schools will choose to compete against buildings on their own campus, in a state or regional competition, or against a select group of peer institutions, with savings from all participants accumulating as we strive to achieve a national challenge goal.
