Chill Out in 2012 with Campus Conservation Nationals!

From 2006 to 2011, National Wildlife Federation's Campus Ecology Program hosted an annual Chill Out: Climate Action on Campus compeition.  The competition encouraged students, faculty and staff from colleges and high schools nationwide to take action on their campus and step up as a leader on campus sustainability.  The work that all of the entrants were doing was inspiring, which led us to create the Chill Out webcasts.

This year we have collaborated with Lucid Design Group, Inc, United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) to bring you Campus Conservation Nationals!  CCN is a nationwide resource use reduction competition that challenges college and university campuses to achieve the greatest electricity and water use reductions during a three week period.

This year's competition include over 150 schools, 1700 residence halls and over 250,000 students! The competition ends on April 23.

What exactly are these students doing to reduce their energy and water usage?  Check out some of these campus videos to find out how students use creative means to not only reduce their usage, but get the word out to others to increase behavior change.

If you are thinking of creating your own CCN video, take a look at these video tips to ensure a great video!
