Observe the Moon

Be nocturnal, like those flying squirrels! Explore the wonders of the moon with your children by having a few "night" Green Hours.

Once outside, ask them:

Where is the moon is the sky? (High, low, nowhere to be seen?)
What color does it appear to be? (White, orange, yellow – or some other color?)
What size and shape? (Does it look like a fingernail, a piece of cheese, or some other shape?)

Do this a few times over the course of a month, and observe together as the moon makes its journey around the earth.

Sign the pledge to spend time outside and encourage the kids in your life to get outside more, too!
