Policies to Protect Wildlife and Habitat

Safeguarding wildlife and habitats from the effects of global warming will require the creative use of a wide array of policy tools. Such policies include those that encourage and provide incentives for the responsible management of habitat designed to sustain wildlife resources, as well as regulations that prevent or limit damage to key resources.

Above all, however, it is clear that adapting to the effects of climate change will be very expensive, and that the availability of reliable, dedicated funding for wildlife conservation will be key to our success in giving wildlife a chance to survive global warming.
