Advocating for Strong Climate Legislation
The National Wildlife Federation works across the country to advocate for climate legislation that will help reduce global warming pollution and protect America's wildlife and natural resources from a changing climate.
What Makes Good Climate Legislation?
NWF's top priority is the passage of federal legislation that:
- Places a national cap on carbon dioxide emissions (global warming pollution).
- Provides funding to agencies in charged of protecting our nation's natural resources that are threatened by global warming.
- Provides assistance and opportunities to underserved communities that are feeling the greatest economic and environmental impacts from our current energy policies.
- Ensures that forests and farmland are properly managed to help alleviate the effects of global warming.
- Provides funding for education and training for green jobs.
- Ensures federal commitment to protecting the world's tropical forests.

The Clean Air Act - While the US has not yet taken immediate or aggressive action on tackling global warming, we must not allow existing pollution standards under the Clean Air Act to be rolled back, attacked, or handcuffed.
