Classroom Carbon Calculator

You can use the Cool School Challenge Classroom Carbon Calculator to help you complete your audit for the climate change pathway of the Eco-Schools USA program.

A few tips:

  • When you open the excel spreadsheet, a warning may pop-up at the top of the screen telling you that the macros have been disabled. If this happens, click on options and select enable this content.

  • Make sure that on each page of the audit you select your utility provider. If your school is not located in Washington state, select national average.

Pathway Partnership

If you've completed the Cool School Challenge, or are in the process of completing it, the work you're doing can help you qualify for a bronze award as part of the Eco-Schools USA program.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Cool School Challenge website and Take the Challenge.
  2. Complete steps 6 (Involve the Community) and 7 (Create an Eco-Code) of the Eco-Schools USA program based on the results of your participation in the Cool School Challenge program.
  3. Register as an Eco-School and apply for a bronze level award under the climate change pathway...that's it!
