Climate Change Pathway Objectives and Learning Outcomes
Objectives:
- To develop students' understanding of the natural carbon cycle.
- To investigate the causes of climate change.
- To explore solutions to problems that cause climate change.
- To quantify the school's carbon footprint.
- To identify ways to reduce the school's carbon footprint.
To design and conduct a carbon-reduction action project.
Learning Outcomes
Through work with the Climate Change pathway, students will:
- Be able to describe the relationship between human activities and climate change.
- Analyze and compare carbon-producing resources.
- Assess the impact of human activities and carbon production on the environment.
- Propose solutions to climate change issues.
- Collect, interpret and present information.
- Communicate about strategies to confront climate change to a variety of audiences, including other students, parents and the local community.
- Work cooperatively with others.
