Global Dimensions Pathway Objectives and Learning Outcomes
Objectives:
- To develop students' understanding of the meaning of sustainable development.
- To raise awareness of the links between students' lives and the lives of others throughout the world.
- To explore the global effects (both positive and negative) that local actions can have on people and the environment now and in the future.
- To empower students to take meaningful action, individually or as a group, to improve lives and communities
Learning Outcomes
Through work with the Global Dimension pathway, students will:
- Recognize the value and importance of conserving diverse natural habitats, resources and cultures.
- Recognize that minimizing local, national, and global inequality and striving for social justice are essential steps towards sustainability.
- Feel empowered and believe that their actions or involvement with others can make the world a better place.
- Collect, interpret and present information on a range of global issues in different ways, using a range of media, to a variety of audiences.
- Engage with students in other cultures and societies to facilitate understanding and empathy.

- Communicate about global topics with a variety of audiences, including other students, parents and the local community.
