Objectives
- To develop students' understanding of the water cycle.
- To emphasize that water is essential for all living things.
- To explore the concept of water distribution around the world and how the availability of clean water affects people's quality of life.
- To quantify the school's water use.
- To identify ways to conserve water at school.
- To put water conservation measures into practice wherever possible.
Learning Outcomes
Through the Water Pathway, students will:
- Understand that the world's supply of fresh water is finite.
- Consider the global implications of fresh water use and discuss solutions to water scarcity.
- Carry out a water audit of the school.
- Discover ways to conserve water in their own lives, at home and at school.
- Collect, interpret, and present information.
- Communicate about strategies to improve water conservation to a variety of audiences, including other students, parents and the local community.
- Work cooperatively with others.
