Christopher Hilke

Christopher Hilke is the Program Manager for the Climate Adaptation Program in the Northeast Regional Office for the National Wildlife Federation.

Christopher is active across the northeastern U.S. in establishing a regional safeguarding network that includes NWF affiliates, state agencies, and other conservation organizations. He works collaboratively with these diverse stakeholders to expand state and regional capacity in order to implement initiatives that will help wildlife and people adapt to climate change.

In addition to expanding regional safeguarding capacity, Christopher works with states to facilitate the incorporation of climate- smart language into their management plans, and develops media and communication strategies focused on Safeguards messaging.

In his previous capacity as a forest ecologist, Christopher established and continues to maintain several long-term ecological research sites monitoring the impacts of climate trends on forest community composition in the White Mountain National Forest, NH.

Christopher serves on the Board of Directors for the Rey Foundation, an environmental education non-profit in Tamworth, NH, and sits on the City of Montpelier, VT Conservation Commission.

Christopher has a B.A. in Environmental Law and Policy from Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT, and an M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch New England Graduate School.
