Physical Challenge:
  • 2 coffee filters
  • Glue
  • 2 googly eyes
  • 1 very small gift bag (5 1/2" x 8")
  • 1 green pipe cleaner (2" long)
  • 1 brown pipe cleaner (5" long)
  • Scissors
  • Tape
Make Fins

Cut off the rims of two coffee filters. Fold each rim in half. Then fold each rim in half again. You will have two fin shapes. Glue them onto the shopping bag as shown.

Make Mouth

Layer one of the remaining coffee filter circles on top of the other. Fringe the edges with scissors to make teeth. Glue onto the bottom of the bag to make the mouth. Fold in the top and bottom sets of "lips" until they form a mouth that opens and closes.

Add Eyes and "Bait"

Glue the two wiggly eyes in place. Wrap the green pipe cleaner around one end of the brown pipe cleaner to make a "worm."

Finish Puppet and Put on a Show

Poke the other end of the brown pipe cleaner through the top of the fish's head. Stick your hand inside the bag. Bend over the tip of the pipe cleaner and tape in place. Let the puppet show begin!
