Paint a thick, black ring around the top and bottom of the clay pot. Paint vertical stripes down its sides. Let dry.
Stick eight bumpy chenille stems into the potted soil. Space the stems so that they encircle the plant. Then bend the stems as shown to look like spider legs.
In a small area on the outside rim of the pot, glue on eight wiggly eyes.
