Old Cricket

Book cover for Old Cricket

This is a beautifully illustrated fable about a trickster cricket. It's fun to read aloud and is also great for beginning readers. Old Cricket wakes up cranky. So when his wife asks him to fix the roof, he tells her he can't because he has a creak in his knee. When others ask for his help, he makes up other ailments and excuses. But, you can see where this is heading, right? Sure enough, his fibs catch up with him. Now, let that be a lesson!
