Contest Rules

OK, photographers... take your best shot!

 

WHO CAN ENTER: Anyone 13 or under, with a parent's or guardian's written permission.

WHAT: Send us your best nature photograph.

WHERE: Mail your photo and signed entry form to:

WHY: Every four months, one winner will be featured in Ranger Rick magazine and on the Ranger Rick Web site. The winning photographer will also receive a Certificate of Recognition and five copies of the magazine displaying his or her prize-winning shot.

WHEN: Keep 'em coming! We will select winners every four months. Contest deadlines are as follows:

•     January 31
•     May 31
•     September 30

   
    HOW: There are rules to follow, but it's easy as 1-2-3!

1. Select YOUR best nature photograph. It can be one you already have, or a new one you snap just for the contest.
2. Have your Mom or Dad read the contest rules. You'll each need to sign the entry form for you to be eligible to win a prize.
3. Mail your photo print and signed entry form to:

   Reston VA, 20190-5362

(Photos can be up to 8" x 10" in size, and should be sent in a protective mailer or sandwiched between pieces of cardboard.)

 

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

What kinds of photos?
Anything on a nature or wildlife theme is OK for this contest. Photos of wild animals are great, but let your imagination go wild! Your photo could be of a bird at a feeder, a butterfly in your backyard, a close-up shot of an interesting bug, or a unique flower.

Can I get my photo back?
We're sorry that we cannot return the photos you submit. It's a good idea to make a copy of a really special photo before sending it!

What about digital photographs?
Please make a photo print of your shot and mail it to us, along with your signed entry form. If yours is selected, we'll get in touch with you about e-mailing us the digital photo.

Where are the rules and entry form?
Follow this link to the official rules & entry form. Remember to have Mom or Dad read them and give you permission to enter first!

What if I win?
The Ranger Rick staff will contact you. Please be prepared to send us the original negative (or digital image) so that we can feature your winning photo in an upcoming issue of Ranger Rick magazine!
