Halloween Treat Bags
This month's Ranger Rick showed you how to turn a plain paper bag into a mighty monster tote—a Bigfoot that's perfect for holding all your Halloween goodies.
What You Need:
- Paper shopping bag with handles
- Bright-colored paper
- Pencil and Scissors
- Craft glue
- Wiggle eyes (optional)
What You Do:
- Cut several three-inch strips of paper the same width as your bag. Cut slits into each strip to look like fringe. Then glue the strips to one side of your bag, making sure the side is completely covered.
- Trace your feet on paper and cut out the shapes. Glue the feet to the bottom of the bag as shown.
- For the monster's hair, glue more strips of "fringed" paper to the top of the bag. Cut small bits from different-colored scraps of paper and glue them on top of the hair strips (see photo).
- For the monster's face, you can copy this design or use your imagination to make any face you like. You can also glue on wiggle eyes.
But maybe you'd rather make a bag with a more common Halloween theme. You can come up with your own design or copy one of these other three bags seen here. (The spider web is made of yarn, and the spiders are store-bought plastic ones.) Whatever you do, have a Happy Halloween!
