Bubbles and Butterflies!
Head outdoors and look for colors that shimmer like butterfly wings. You can start with these ideas and maybe find some others on your own.
- Blow bubbles in a sunny spot. See the swirling colors on each bubble? In this case, thin layers of the bubble solution scatter the light.
- Look for a rain puddle with a layer of oil on top.
- Find insects such as these beetles: dogbane, Japanese, metallic wood-boring
- Discover the feathers of hummingbirds, starlings, pigeons, and peacocks.
- See the insides of certain seashells such as abalone.
