Bats are not blind -- in fact, their eyesight is at least as good as ours.
Bats use echolocation to navigate and maneuver, even in the dark.
Bats don't get tangled in people's hair -- that's just an old myth.
The largest fruit-eating bats in the world have a wing span of up to 6 feet!
Many fruit bats are pollinators of helpful plants and flowers.
Even if the bats near you aren't fruit bats, they probably are the best bug zappers around -- a littlebrown bat can eat more than 600 mosquitoes in a single hour!
Of the 45 species (kinds) of bats in the U.S., half are threatened, endangered, or in serious decline.
