Fish Beanbags

What can you do with old socks? Make them into fish for a game of catch!

What you need:

  • old socks
  • uncooked beans or rice
  • ribbon or string
  • scissors
  • permanent marker
  • empty soda or milk bottle
  • masking tape

What you do:

  1. Just fill the socks with a handful of beans or uncooked rice and tie a secure knot. Trim the cuff of the sock to make a fishy tail. Draw a face on the fish with permanent marker.
  2. Use an empty milk or soda bottle to make a catcher. Cut off the bottom and tape over the edge with masking tape.
  3. Take turns tossing and catching with your child. For the youngest players, you may need to stay very close. As your child's coordination skills mature, you can move farther away from each other. Fun for all ages!
