Jason serves as a NWF Regional Representative, working with the organization’s affiliates in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana. He is responsible with assisting NWF’s state affiliates in the development of federal and state policies forwarding the organization’s conservation based mission, capacity building, and building grass roots networks. Jason was born in Michigan and has spent much of his educational and professional career within the state. After getting his B.S. from Michigan State University in Wildlife Management, Jason went to work for the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC), NWF’s statewide affiliate for the state, as a policy specialist. Jason spent five years at the affiliate, working on behalf of MUCC’s membership on issues such as wolf management, endangered species, Tribal treaty negotiations, and fish and game management.
After his time with MUCC, Jason entered law school at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he earned his Juris Doctor. Determined to continue his previous work experience and life’s ambition of working in the field of natural resources management and policy, Jason jumped at the opportunity to join NWF’s Great Lakes Office as a Regional Representative.
When not in the office, Jason can be found doing just about anything outdoors, including hunting (both big game and upland bird), fishing, and backpacking. Jason currently lives with his wife, Lauren, their young son, Logan, and his ever faithful birddog Lucy in Farmington, MI.
