Leilani Münter is a race car driver and a National Wildlife Federation ambassador on the issue of our clean energy future. She spoke at the Opening Session of our 2008 Annual Meeting.
She was born and raised in Minnesota. She studied Biology at the University of California San Diego. She used to volunteer as a wildlife rescuer in college.
Leilani races in both NASCAR and in the Indy Pro Series. She is the fourth woman in history to race in the Indy Pro Series.

Planet Green named her "Top Eco Athlete" for her efforts to get every race car using clean, renewable biofuels and every race track to start a recycling program.
She purchases an acre of rainforest for each of her races to offset her carbon footprint. She has been a long time vegetarian and eco activist.
Leilani modelled for Lucky Jeans with the theme of "Leilani Münter, Race Car Driver and Environmentalist - Saving rainforests one race at a time." She also worked as a photo double for actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. Her hobbies include scuba diving and snowboarding.
