Steve Torbit
Regional Executive Director
Rocky Mountain Regional Center - Boulder, CO
I am the Regional Executive Director for NWF in the Rocky Mountain Region.
I have been associated with NWF for more than 30 years as a professional biologist working on issues, as an affiliate board member and as an instructor for NWF’s conservation education efforts. I began my career with NWF as a biologist and although I am more of an administrator now, I still engage on issues that impact wildlife habitats across the west, work on endangered species issues and coordinate NWF’s work on global warming in the Rockies. I also lead NWF’s national efforts on conserving public lands and partnering with Native American Tribes on climate and wildlife issues affecting their reservations and treaty lands.
I have the pleasure of coordinating and staying out of the way of a wonderful staff spread all the way from Billings, Montana to Fort Defiance, Arizona. As a former board member of the Wyoming Wildlife Federation, I am keenly interested in improving the impact of NWF’s western affiliates.
