Aileo Weinmann is Associate Communications Director for the National Wildlife Federation, supervising Communications from the National Advocacy Center in Washington, DC.

Aileo is responsible for communicating National Wildlife Federation’s work and getting media coverage to combat the greatest threats to wildlife by advancing effective solutions to global warming, restoring America’s wildlife conservation legacy in the face of new threats, and helping families across America rediscover the wonders of nature. In particular, Aileo works on National Wildlife Federation’s Fair Climate Campaign to engage a national network of leaders representing underserved communities to advance equitable and just solutions to climate change.

Aileo has placed stories and spokespeople on CBS News, CNN, BBC, Associated Press, Reuters, New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Time, Newsweek, BusinessWeek, Wall Street Journal and other media outlets.

Before joining National Wildlife Federation in 2006, Aileo worked as a journalist in Alaska, California and Michigan – producing and reporting public radio stories, reporting and editing magazines, and reporting newspaper stories.

Aileo holds a Masters degree in Journalism from Michigan State University and a B.A. in American Culture from The University of Michigan.
