canoe on Great Swamp, NY, by Sharon Mammoser

Winter canoeing can open up a new window on nature.  Sharon A. Mammoser writes, “I live beside a 6,000-acre wetland in upstate New York called the Great Swamp and spend time there in every season exploring.  On this morning in early January, I woke up to a winter wonderland and was compelled to take the canoe for a spin.”  She used a Nikon D80, an 18mm lens and a tripod to capture the landscape.
