Three up a tree

KESSEA L. REITZNER SAW a movement in her backyard in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, one morning and quickly realized it was a black bear mother with three cubs. “I yelled for my husband, grabbed my camera and we went out onto the deck,” she says. “Our deck is one level up with no stairs to the ground so I felt fairly safe.” The mother bear shooed her cubs up the tree and Reitzer made one photo with a Canon PowerShot S5 IS before they quickly scampered down and disappeared into the forest.
