After years of only catching blurs of escaping kingfishers, Nicholas Chill came across this female belted kingfisher in Ocean Beach, California. "She allowed me two hours of fantastic photography while preening, diving for fish, and looking cute," the California photographer writes. Chill used a Nikon D90 and a 150-500mm lens.
