Photographer Elaine Mickler followed this reddish egret along the shoreline at Rockport, Texas, and watched it fish. "It was amazing to see such interesting behavior," the Texas resident writes. "This bird uses its wings to shade the waters to aid its success at fishing." Mickler used a Canon 30D and a 35-128mm lens.
