Frosty Battle

While photographing whitetail rutting activity in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee, Tom Wood chanced upon one of those special moments when all the conditions were right for a great photo. "It was a cold frosty morning and two bucks were positioning for a fight," the Tennessee resident writes. "They were on a hill, which allowed for an out-of-focus background." Wood used a Cannon 50D, a 500mm lens and a tripod.
