2012 People's Choice Award Winner

Top voted photo from the 42nd annual National Wildlife Photo Contest

Congratulations to our 2012 People's Choice Award winner, Ajay Parmar, whose photo of a striped hyena received over 4,100 votes in the public voting final round! Also, a big "thank you" to everyone who shared their photos.

Ajay's "long wait" for a photo opportunity one morning in Velavadar Blackbuck National Park (located in Gujarat, India) was rewarded when a striped hyena came strolling down the road. Hyenas are nocturnal, and photographing one in such strong daylight is rare. "This was one of the best days in my wildlife photography."
