Randall Roberts had wanted to visit the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve in Alaska for a long time, and he finally made the trip during the Bald Eagle Festival. “Thousands of bald eagles gather there every winter to take advantage of the late salmon run,” the Colorado pro photographer says. “This wary eagle was looking for possible thieves while feeding.” Roberts used a Nikon D300 and a 500mm lens.
