David and Shiela Glatz hiked out to the glacial silt at low tide one morning in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. “This was like walking on drying cement, but it was worth the trek when we got close to this young female brown bear clamming,” the Illinois residents write. “She seems to be admiring her reflection as she reaches into the water.” Glatz used a Nikon D3X and a 200-400mm lens on a tripod.
