Winter landscape of Mono Lake, California

"Mono Lake, California, is one of my favorite places to photograph in winter," pro photographer Jim Shoemaker says. "The tourists are gone and often I have the place to myself." The California resident captured this serene scene early one morning. Shoemaker used a Canon 5D Mark II with a 16-35mm lens, a tripod and a graduated neutral density filter.
