Fall Sweetgum tree in Illinois

David Hammond had watched every day for two weeks for this sweet gum tree in Ferne Clyffe State Park, Illinois, to be in prime color. "It finally happened one evening after a shower," he says. “The light was just right for about 15 minutes." Hammond went back the following day and the branches were nearly bare. The Illinois resident used a Canon PowerShot G9 with a tripod and ball head.
