The Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps is one of the most photographed peaks in the world, so photographer Panagiotis Laskaradis set out to capture it in a different way. "Some time before the sun came up and with the stars still lighting the sky, I left my camera open about 20 minutes. I got exactly what I wanted: the star trails, the blue and red sky, and the Matterhorn, the king of mountains," the Ioannina, Greece, resident says. Laskaradis used a Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a zoom lens and, of course, a steady tripod.
