Located in the Waterberg Mountains of South Africa, Marakele National Park serves as a haven for a variety of wildlife because of its location in the geographic transitional zone between the dry western region and moist eastern region. Professional photographer Pete Oxford, a fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers, captured a tender moment between the dominant male and a female of a pride located on a private reserve within the park. The resident of Ecuador used a Nikon D3s camera and a 200-400mm lens.
