Badger

While taking photographs in Yellowstone National Park, Barrett Hedges came across a surprising animal. He writes, “I was in shock to see this badger, as it is not very common to see badgers in winter.” The American badger does not hibernate, but does become less active in the winter seasons, emerging from its den only when the temperature is above freezing. A Tennessee resident, Hedges used a Nikon D300s camera, 600mm lens and a 1.4x teleconverter.
