American Bullfrogs

American bullfrogs are found around the world, but are native only to the eastern half of the United States. They inhabit large, permanent water bodies and are usually found in shallow areas. Photographer Allen Sparks wrote: “I waded knee deep into a lily-pad field, expecting the frogs to jump, but they sat there frozen until I got the shot.” The Tennessee resident used a Canon 7D with a 400mm lens and a 1.4x teleconverter.
