Photo of the Week: Owl Education
The Fresno (California) Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Service is an all-volunteer organization that cares for orphaned or injured wild birds and mammals native to California, returning them to their natural habitats whenever possible
. The organization uses educational presentations to increase awareness, concern and understanding of California’s wildlife resources. Photographer David Hunter, working with the rescue group to take birds-of-prey portraits, captured this image of a resident great horned owl that had suffered neurological damage and that remains in the service’s care. The California resident used a Nikon D800 with an 80-200mm lens.
