Borneo

This week at NWF we are celebrating World Environment Day! Sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme, World Environment Day has been celebrated on June 5th every year since 1973. Hosted by a different city with a different theme each year, the day encourages worldwide awareness and action to protect the environment. The 2014 theme is “Small Islands and Climate Change,” encouraging a greater understanding of the global importance of small island nations and of the urgency to help protect the island in the face of growing risks and vulnerabilities, particularly as a result of climate change. Paul Suprenand, of Florida, photographed this Iban community in Borneo using a Canon EOS 50D with a 70-300mm lens.
