Sea Lion Pups

This past weekend, NWF celebrated World Ocean Day! Every year on June 8th, this day honors the world’s oceans, celebrating their intrinsic value and the marine life they support. Initiated in 1992, today World Oceans Day is recognized by the United Nations and is coordinated internationally by The Ocean Project and the World Ocean Network with increasing success and global participation each year. Diving off Hopkins Island in South Australia, photographer Michael O’Neill, of Florida, was approached by a group of curious sea lion pups, photographing them with a Nikon D700 and a 16mm lens in Aquatica underwater housing.
