Photo of the Week: Connecting with Nature
July 22nd is National Hammock Day!
Though the origin of this recognition day is unknown, it is day that is meant to remind us to slow down and enjoy a beautiful day outside. This image, taken by photographer Mac Stone, is a 2nd place winner from National Wildlife’s 2013 photo contest in the category of Connecting People and Nature. While camping in Fisheating Creek, Florida, the South Carolina resident set up his hammock in a large cypress tree, illuminated the scene and took this photograph using a Canon 7D camera with a 10-22mm lens.
