Photo of the Week: Tigers in the Wild
Founded at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in 2010, International Tiger Day is celebrated annually on July 29th.
The goal of Tiger day is to give worldwide attention to, and gain support for, conservation efforts to protect and expand wild tiger habitats. Over the past 100 years, we have lost an estimated 97% of all wild tigers, and those remaining continue to be threatened by habitat loss, human wildlife conflict and climate change. Photographer Sandeep Dutta, of Bangalore India, took this photo of a tiger mother with her cubs at Bandhavgarh National Park with a Nikon D4 camera and a 600mm lens.
