Photo of the Week: National Park Month
August is National Parks Month!
In August 1916 the U.S. Congress created the National Park Service, which today cares for and provides access to more than 400 sites, including national parks and natural monuments. National parks are more than just beautiful preserves; they provide a safe habitat for native flora and fauna, play an important role in maintaining a healthy environment and serve as a place to learn about the importance of wildlife protection. Photographer Adam Jewell, of Pennsylvania, captured this stunning landscape scene at Fishercap Lake in Glacier National Park using a Canon 7D with a 10-22mm lens.
