Pleneau Bay, Antarctica
The leopard seal, Hydrurga lyptonyx, swam around us for 3 to 4 minutes having a good look at the eleven people sitting in the zodiac. We were all dressed the same in bright yellow parkas, so I'm sure the seal was quite mystified. It would swim towards us, head just above the water, very fast and at the last moment would dive and circle away from us.
