Thanda Private Game reserve, Mkuse, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
There is nothing more thrilling when you are on safari to see a kill. After living five of the six weeks on the Thanda Private Game reserve in Mkuse, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and going on two safaris a day, we finally hit the jackpot! A pride of lions, mother, three daughters and a young male, had hidden the four cubs and were preparing for the evening’s hunt. In this shot, Mother and her daughters gather for unspoken collaboration just before the group disbanded and took position for a successful attack on a wildebeest. I was positioned in and open jeep about 20 feet away and the lions were not deisturbed by our presence.
