Photographing Yellowstone

Yellowstone at dusk, photo by Tom Murphy

This trip is limited to eight participants who will travel through Yellowstone with Tom Murphy, an outstanding nature photographer. This program is based on the idea that people learn best by doing, so most instruction is in the field and the field — and the wildlife doesn’t get much better than this.

Why Environmental Adventure Company

Environmental Adventure Company’s trips enhance the senses and create an enriched appreciation of our natural world. They take every effort to minimize or eliminate any impact to wildlife and their habitats. They work hard to strengthen and encourage the conservation endeavors of our destinations. They sustain the local economy of the areas we visit by using local guides, naturalists, etc. They treat all cultures with respect and sensitivity of their beliefs and lifestyles. They strive to leave the earth better than we found it!

Why NWF chose this trip

The process of taking a photograph of wildlife or wild places is an inherently connective one. By capturing a beautiful creature or scenic wonder in our cameras, we are immortalizing it to ourselves and others as important, moving, and evocative. And in this process, we become more connected to it. Outdoor photography represents one of the best ways to connect with nature, because by photographing the wild we become guardians of it.
