Rebuilding the Gulf

The voices and efforts of tens of thousands of NWF supporters helped secure the passage of the RESTORE Act, which ensures that money from BP's oil spill fines will be dedicated to helping habitat for brown pelicans, dolphins and many more Gulf wildlife.

Protecting Wildlife from Dirty Oil

Following months of dedicated efforts from NWF supporters like you, President Obama suspended a permit for the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline. The proposed pipeline would run straight through migratory habitat for critically endangered whooping cranes.

Fighting Against Climate Change

NWF supporters were instrumental in generating three million public comments in support of the Environmental Protection Agency's first-ever national limits on carbon pollution emitted from new power plants--a critical step to curbing the climate change threatening the iconic polar bear.

Safeguarding Our Public Lands

With your help, NWF was able to join other conservation groups to file a lawsuit in response to a plan to drill on Colorado's Roan Plateau that failed to consider more wildlife-friendly approaches to drilling in this important habitat for some of the nation's largest mule deer and elk herds.

Reducing Toxic Emissions

NWF supporters helped generate more than 900,000 public comments in support of the Environmental Protection Agency's new air pollution standards that will result in cutting mercury emissions by 91 percent; helping protect trout and the common loon from toxic mercury.

Boosting Fuel Efficiency

Following tens of thousands of messages from NWF supporters, the Obama administration finalized new standards that will double the fuel economy of our cars and trucks—an enormous step to curbing the rising global temperatures that are threatening habitat for cold-loving species like the American pika.
