Healthy Kids Outdoors Act

Playing kids

The Healthy Kids Outdoors Act, formerly known as the Moving Outdoors in Nature Act, will improve our children’s health, support economic growth and strengthen the future of conservation in America by reconnecting our children, youth and families with the natural world.

This legislation will provide incentives to states to create high-leverage, low-cost strategies to connect people with nature. These state-wide strategies will connect communities with green spaces, provide opportunities for outdoor recreation, engage the health community in educating parents and caregivers about the health benefits of time spent in nature, and much more. The Healthy Kids Outdoors Act will also support a federal strategy to get kids active outdoors in nature and advance related research.

We hope you will join us in supporting this critical legislation by reaching out to organizations to join a sign-on letter urging Congress to pass the Healthy Kids Outdoors Act. From your local PTA or nature center to state-wide and national groups, all are welcome to join! You can find a copy of the organizational sign-on letter, a fact sheet and the bill language here.
