Endangered Species Day

Eagle

On Friday, May 15, 2015 join us in recognizing Endangered Species Day.

National Wildlife Federation spearheaded the establishment of Endangered Species Day by Congress, and we take this opportunity each year to share the importance of wildlife conservation and restoration efforts for all imperiled species. It is also a perfect time to learn about and celebrate the progress made to protect wildlife since the creation of the Endangered Species Act in 1973.

5 Ways to Celebrate Endangered Species Day:

  1. Take Action - Help keep red wolves from going extinct by editing and sending a message to your members of Congress, urging them to increase funding for red wolf conservation.

  2. Become a Member of NWF - Support wildlife conservation efforts every day by joining millions of others across the country in membership

  3. Update your Facebook Timeline pic - Show your support for endangered species with a photo of your favorite wildlife species. Let us know you did it by including @National Wildlife Federation in your status message.

  4. Help spread the word via Twitter - Share an Endangered Species Day story or wildlife message with your friends and family. Make sure to include #ESDay in your tweet.

  5. Attend an Endangered Species Day event! Events are held across the country to highlight endangered species stories.

  6. Help Kids Learn About Biodiversity! NWF's Eco-Schools has resources to get students ready to celebrate biodiversity and conservation.
