Understanding Wildlife Conservation

 Northern Red-tailed Hawk

The natural world is a complex system.  Only by understanding how species relate to each other and their environment can we hope to properly protect wildlife and preserve their habitat for the future.

The National Wildlife Federation created the Understanding Wildlife Conservation section to provide information for people who are just starting to learn about wildlife conservation, as well as to inspire young people to get involved in protecting wildlife and wild places.

Topics covered in the Understanding Wildlife Conservation section include:

Biodiversity
Disturbance
Ecoregions
Ecosystem Services
Endangered Species Act and its Importance
Flyways and Wildlife Corridors
Phenology
